UCPATH TRAINING COURSES


All required UCPath training courses are available online via the UCLA Learning Management System (LMS). Some courses will also be offered as in-person, instructor-led trainings. 

The courses are presented below in the order in which they should be taken. The courses have been designed to build on each other, so it is strongly recommended that you take the courses in the correct order.  Please refer to the UCPath Training Curriculum Sheet for your role (or roles) to identify the courses that you are required to take in order to be provisioned in UCPath. These sheets are available on the Understanding Your Curriculum page. Also visit the Training Resources & Help page for additional training materials that are available to you.

We recommend that you download and save or print your LMS course completions for your records. You can find your course completions in the Transcripts & Certifications section of the LMS. You can also save or print the email confirmations you receive for your course completions. 

 
Registration
  1. Click on the available training link
  2. Logon to the UCLA Single Sign-On and DUO (if necessary)
  3. Click the REGISTER button in the upper right corner (next to the OPTIONS button) on the UC Learning Center screen 
  4. Upon clicking the REGISTER button, the word REGISTERED will appear to the right of the course title(s)
  5. Click START to start the course.

 

Browser Recommendation: For Windows: Google Chrome (latest version), Internet Explorer 11  For Mac: Google Chrome (latest version)

If you have already completed a course and would like to review the materials be sure to select the Review option when re-opening the course in the LMS. Do not select the Restart option.

Space is limited, so please register for your in-person training courses as early as possible.

Preparation

Before attending an in-person training session, please be sure you:

  • Complete all pre-requisite courses. On the curriculum sheets, courses are presented in the order in which they should taken, if possible. Curriculum sheets are available on the Understanding Your Curriculum webpage.
  • Review the additional training materials available for your course and consider printing out the course presentation. Additional training materials are available on the Training Resources & Help webpage.
  • Bring your Bruin ID, a pen, and paper to your training session.

Access to the UCPath Training environment will be managed in one-hour sessions. Each one-hour session will accommodate 30 employees.  Sessions will take place in room 1015 at the Luskin School of Public Affairs. Computers will be provided to access the UCPath Training environment. Trainers and subject matter experts (SMEs) will be in the room to provide support and guidance.

Trainees are encouraged to review course materials and plan for the type of transactions they’d like to practice during their session. They are also encouraged to bring along printed reference materials such as job aids, UCLA business process documentation, or slides from the training presentations.

Trainees should sign up for at least on session, but may sign up for up to four. Registration is first come, first serve so we encourage you all to sign up for your desired sessions as soon as possible. Access to the UCPath Training environment will be offered for three weeks in August. Additional sessions will be scheduled for September.

HCM and Payroll Trainees will have access to the UCPath Training environment on the following dates:

  • August 13th – August 16th
  • August 20th – August 23rd
  • Location: Room 1015 at the Luskin School of Public Affairs

Please note the following information about the UCPath Training environment:

  • All roles will be Initiator roles
  • There will be no approval workflow engine (AWE)
  • Transactions can only be saved or submitted
  • Data in the UCPath Training environment will be UCLA data, but it will be masked
  • Access in the UCPath Training environment may be greater than access at go-live
