UCPath Deployed at UC Office of the President

(DECEMBER 2, 2015)  UCPath Program Director Mark Cianca announced that the UC Office of the President became the first location to deploy the new UCPath system during the week of Nov. 30, 2015.

The UCPath Center – a shared services center in Riverside, California – delivered its first payroll to UCOP over Dec. 1 – 2, and is now providing customer service support to Office of the President (UCOP) staff, establishing a milestone for this multi-year effort.

“The teams of the UCPath PMO are thrilled to reach this significant accomplishment in the project,” UC Deputy CIO Cianca said in an update on the central UCPath website. “UCOP is our first location to launch UCPath, and employees can expect their UCPath experience to evolve as we add additional functions with future deployments.”

UCLA – along with UC Riverside, UC Merced and ASUCLA – will be the next UCPath implementation and the first to involve academic and administrative staff, as well as medical center employees in the UCLA Health System.

The deployment of UCOP on UCPath was supported by project teams across the UC system, including UCLA, which delivered much of the technical infrastructure and worked closely with the central UCPath team and Office of the President to transition the first UC location from the old payroll system to UCPath.

In the next few years, UCPath will replace UC’s existing payroll-personnel system with a single PeopleSoft platform supporting payroll, benefits, general ledger, and some human resources business processes at all 10 UC campuses and five medical centers.
